A woman once accused of being the state's drunkest driver pleaded guilty Thursday in Redmond to two DUI charges stemming from arrests a year ago.
In one of them, Deana Jarrett, 54, recorded a 0.47 percent blood-alcohol reading, the highest ever registered in a state breath test, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Jarrett asked for mercy and said she has changed her behavior.
"I am very sorry for my actions," said the former Seattle police detective. "I just beg the court's forgiveness."
King County District Court Judge David Steiner set sentencing for June 13.
Jarrett was arrested in two separate DUI offenses in April 2007.
In a hearing that lasted nearly two hours, Steiner accepted a package of agreements worked out by attorneys that resolved those and two other cases involving Jarrett, including a hit-and-run driving charge from Feb. 23, 2007.
Jarrett faces up to a year in jail on each of the DUI pleas.
