Skagit County DUI Attorney: Skagit County DUI dismissed

This morning in Skagit County District Court in Mount Vernon a client of mine will have her very serious DUI dismissed.  It is not being dismissed because the Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney is being nice.  It is not being dismissed because my client deserves it.  And it is not being dismissed as a result of a busy system.  No, it is being dismissed because of two reasons.  First, there were severe evidentiary issues that we discovered in the case that necessitated a much better result than the State would have liked.  Second, the Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney is very experienced and very knowledgeable and understood the issues he was facing.  The Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney did not like dismissing this case, and I don't blame him, but he did the right thing by doing so.  Prosecting Attorneys are not about getting convictions, they are about doing justice and doing right.  The Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney did this and as a result gained the respect of many.   This is one example of a good prosecutor and the Skagit County Prosecuting Attorneys are some of the best in this region.
